You put it out there to the public, there isn't really much you can do about him. You can block him, but if he gets pissed off, he can get another twitter name and still follow you.

i think your best bet is to open another email account just for your twitter (eg gmail or yahoo) and just forward all the mail to your regular email that was deleted from twitter.

this will show you who is following you and direct messages without having to log into the new email account.

My business (SNAP) is geared toward helping business owners find and maintain their customers through social networking. It is in your best interest to set up a Facebook, MySpace and Twitter account. You also need to be on LinkedIn.

Of these services, Facebook will probably best serve your needs because of several features including Facebook advertising. Facebook users update continuously, so it's more of a continuous conversation rather than the posting that MySpace offers.

Also, via Facebook you can create a separate page for your business or to connect with specific people. Overall, I believe you'll find Facebook is superior to MySpace.

My advice is start with LinkedIn as that is social networking for business/professionals. There are already social groups of lawyers and then I would suggest contacting local law societies and asking their advice.

I must admit that this is just a guess. And with that said I'm also guessing that there could be over 1000 reasons that Twitter approaches the market the way it does with great success.

Okay, so Twitter makes no money (yeah right) why invest in it.

During a recent error on Twitters part numerous people lost their accounts including @BodyByChocolate (ME!). Fortunately Twitter quickly realized what had happened and Tweeted their apology along with a clear statement that TweetLater's auto DM process had nothing to do with the issues we were experiencing.

With TweetLater there is a free and paid version to work with. The paid version is very nice and worth every penny. While I can't say that Twitter owns TweetLater, is it not possible that there is some type of backend advertising that the founders of Twitter do without us realizing it? Done right, Twitter would stand to make an aweful lot of money.

Or, how about this?

Twitter aligns itself to be a charity which gives back to the community. Do you know how much money charities can make? Then if they have the above tied in too Twitter would be looking very nice while being very free.

I can't guarantee any of the above are actually true, just good reasons for why they do what they do.

Usually the thinking behind this type of business is that the initial phase of their business is to attract a massive user base by offering their service for free.

Once they have a substantial user base, that's a valuable asset that they'll look to monetize.

In the case of Twitter, they've spent the time so far building their brand and increasing the user base so that they can then move over to a monetization model.

Recently there have been suggestions that Twitter will start charging companies for new functions designed to put them in more effective touch with their customers.

Here's what one of the Twitter guys said:

One of the bad parts about Twitter is their support. Other than that, Twitter really rocks.

So let me answer your question and provide a solution below.

First, I don't believe it will be possible for you to get back into your Twitter account without remembering the Email address. Therefore, your best option is to setup a new account. You might even find that while attempting to setup a new account the Email address you attempt to do it with has already been used. If you find this to be the case you may have found the Email address that you used to setup your initial account.

However, this solution presents a problem in relinking with all the followers you had connected with on the locked account. Presuming that you remember the USER ID for that account, you can send a tweet to that account letting people know that you have setup a new USER ID and will not be checking this old account. You can then recommend that they follow your new USER ID. I would send this message to that account on a daily basis for about a month so that everyone actively following your tweets will see and be able to come follow your new profile on Twitter.

You can try sites like twibe.com in order to list your twitter name within various interest groups so people can find you.

Also, since people who follow you want to get something for their trouble, make sure your tweets are useful rather than narcissistic. Interact with your followers so you don't come across as a twitterer-collector. My opinion:

Mysape= customizable.. all with codes.. music, backgrounds, pictures sometimes a lil complicated if you don鈥檛 know what your doing.. has added a ton of new features to block hide and stray secret but that is soley on how you decide to have your myspace page and information, still have mine

I've only used Twitter and Facebook. Facebook updates are large things in life, which is why there isn't very much of a character limit. On Twitter, you can get up to 140 characters per post. Twitter is for smaller things in life. You would post things like "I'm drinking coffee" on Twitter. On Facebook, "Going on vacation" would be appropriate. I would suggest Twitter, but Facebook has much more features.
Yes, they ARE the same thing when it comes to status updates - but Facebook offers more connectivity options and things like applications and other similar gadgets. MySpace offers a personalized profile page, applications and everything like that. FB is typically more professional, MySpace is for younger people who just want to connect with friends, and Twitter is just status updates without all the clutter.

I set up a fan page on twitter for the fab Emma Thompson called @TeamEmThompson I set it up yesterday morning (bout 30 hours ago!) yet it still does not appear in search results. It shows up if you search for the exact name of the page ie.TeamEmThompson, but typing Emma Thompson (which is what people will naturally search for) does not bring it up in the results. A fresh page usually takes around 2 weeks to show up in search engine. If you over promote a new page, it will take months for Google knows if you are doing SEO the wrong way.

What does twitter use to encrypt passwords?

Can someone please please please tell me what form of encryption the Twitter Mac App uses to encrypt the passwords you enter into it to the app.

I know it goes to keychain but somewhere in-between it turns it into a strange string of code. When I extract the passwords I can see some strange type of code I don't recognise, Ive tried everything, its not BASE64, MD5, Cisco7 etc.

you can't de crypt password keys, they are only one way. With that said, if you know the password you MAY be able to figure it out if you try encrypting the password using the common schemes like MD5 or SHA, etc. That is assuming they dont add something else (like an account number, etc) to the password in the encryption process.

Twitter is really very disappointing in many ways and I know that there has been massive interest but many are very disillusioned and do not feel that it will stand the test of time. I am not in to texting but I am in agreement with the other person who stated that unless you are on the web 24/7 it is pointless and nor a real time experience. If you log in just daily, you will find countless inane tweets and you will have to trawl through everything to find out whether anyone has mentioned your

profile by way of reply. In general, folk do not reply or interact (no conversation). It seems to be a mouthpiece for folk who prefer to trumpet their own views as opposed to listening and then communicating via dialogue. Forget it is my advice - it is a waste of time and like many others I am on the point of jacking it in. Well, Twitter is a WHOLE lot more "demanding" than facebook. It's best, if youhave a twitter, to have it texted to your phone, which only costs like you are texting. Because with twitter, it's all realtime. If you aren't on the computer 24/7, or don't have it on your phone, it's pointless. Why would you want to know what someone was doing on Dec 23 at 12:01pm? you'd want to know it in realtime, which you can do with the texting thing.

Twitter is basically just to say what you're doing or thinking about - just to let the people interested enough in your life know. It's also a way to get your personality out there and for people to in some small way 'get to know' you.

twitter seemed pointless to me before i joined too but after i did, it wasn't all that bad. it's actually a pretty fast way to keep in touch and let all your friends know what's up, what you're doing, where you are, etc. if you need to ask a question, just tweet and all your friends that have twitter connected to their mobile will get a text showing them what you just tweeted. it's a quick and easy way to keep in touch and it keeps things short and simple. you can follow all your favorite celebs etc and see what they're doing or when/where they're playing next and all that without having to say a word to them or anyone else.
