Twitter is just another form of Instant Messenger. It's the latest in the evolution of online social forums such as IM, MySpace, Facebook, whatever... It's as safe as any of these other social sites and there's a 13 year old age minimum (but I don't believe it's being enforced due to new educational benefits being identified with this type of communication vehicle. Plus, how would they enforce the age requirement).



Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers).



The main difference between Twitter and IM is that Twitter automatically updates all of your "followers" automatically whenever you create a "tweet". So, for famous people, they have a lot of followers. If the famous person writes a tweet saying they are flying off to Paris for the weekend, the tweet automatically gets delivered to all of the subscribed followers automatically.



It's also a popular way of updating family members on little events without sitting down and writing/sending each one of them an email or an IM.How old should you be to get a Twitter account?
Twitter is this site where you basically tell people what your doing. It's like the myspace and facebook status thing. I'm not sure how old you have to be but i guess at least 13. It's safe for the most part, if you set your settings to protected so then only people you chose can see your updates, if you don't then everyone can see them. You can chose to follow celebrities or friends or just interesting looking people.How old should you be to get a Twitter account?
I would relate it closer to facebook than myspace. twitter is basically a site where you can share what you are doing with friends and family. I would say you can be any age to get a twitter account, it's a really cool way to keep in touch with friends and family, and to let others know how you are doing and what your up to.
it dosn't matter what age has long has u dont put ur pesonal info out there like ur age, ur full name, were u live, ur e-mail, phone #'s
